SPEAKER_00This is the first time we've done this as well, where we've done a part two, like four weeks after we did part one.

SPEAKER_00I had to re-listen to the podcast this morning to figure out which question we were up to because I didn't actually delete the other ones, so I had no idea where we were.

Birthday Plans And Work Chaos
SPEAKER_00four weeks.
SPEAKER_01No, because you have been busy. I have been so busy that when I came to see you for your birthday, you didn't turn up.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01And I had to spend time with my own mother.
SPEAKER_00I what what do you mean say it like that? Say it like that. She really enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_01I know she did. We had a lovely sing song. I really enjoyed it too. We had a lovely sing song. Did you? Without you.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that was nice.
SPEAKER_01Because you weren't judging us for our pitchiness. I wouldn't like when do I ever judge you for the pitching? You do that thing where you sit in the chair and you go, so you turned 51, but I didn't see you turn 51.
SPEAKER_00No, no. I was at work. So my birthday lands on one of the busiest weeks at work. Well, the busiest week is the busiest week that I am at work that week. So the busiest week I am at work that week, that's that's bad English, but it was really bad. Yeah, so I have to go in at like seven o'clock in the morning, not get back till about ten o'clock at night.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So I I said, please may I come over on the 15th of July? Yes, Hannah, no problem. I'll be there.
SPEAKER_00I thought I might have been finished that a little bit earlier, but I wasn't. You were not. No, I wasn't. I was I was still at work.
SPEAKER_01It was it because of the England game was on that night as well. That was Did that make the matters worse?
SPEAKER_00It didn't actually make matters worse. It actually helped because people left the event early to catch the game. And it was really funny because there was um as people were leaving, and I was kind of standing there and I was just kind of watching, just as everyone was kind of going, and I could see families kind of walking past, and they had uh a few of them like were watching watching the game on their phone as they were leaving. And there was one particular family, and they they they couldn't quite get it up on the on the phone. I could see it. So I pulled my phone out for a laugh because I don't like football, I have no idea. And I just went, oh, Argentina just scored like this, and this family's what? Nah, just kidding.
SPEAKER_01We lost anyway, yeah. We did lose, yeah. Um, yeah, RIP World Cup. I didn't 26.
SPEAKER_00I mean I must I mean I've been like as you know, I do go on TikTok and things quite a lot and I just go that Haaland bloke out of Norway. I quite like him.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I thought you might.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I quite like him. I thought he was really funny. He's a good guy. And have you seen that video where he scares himself in the mirror? Yeah. You've seen that. You know that's AI, that's not him.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, really?
SPEAKER_00I didn't realise that. Rob told me. And then I found out because the and then I saw the original. What do we believe? I know you can't believe nothing now, can you?

Football Clips And What Is Real
SPEAKER_01You really can't. No, you can't.
SPEAKER_00No. So what else have you been up to? Anything?
SPEAKER_01Uh no. Uh I mean I went to Pleasurewood Hills. Oh. And Great Yarmouth. They've changed the snails. They've made them, they've they've they've boosted them up.
SPEAKER_00They've changed the snails. Oh, they've made them good. In what way? They were already amazing. How could they change the summarise on the how the greatness of the snails?
SPEAKER_01Special effects now.
SPEAKER_00Wow, were you joking?
SPEAKER_01The Alice in Wonderland bit, phenomenal.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_01Hand on heart, phenomenal. Oh, I love the snails. The snails are great. Yeah. So I went on the snails. Uh um uh Pleasure Wood Hills got loads of new rides now as well. Oh, okay. You know, family-friendly rides, not thrilly, but they've changed the restraints on Wipeout, which is the most thrilling coaster there. Basically, it's a torture device, it's a uh metal breastplate that sits uncomfortably, right? But it's definitely a lot more comfortable than the last restraints, which were over the shoulder. So improvements have been made, but I wish they just put some padding on it. Why have I got a medieval torture like metal plate on my chest when I'm going upside down?
Pleasurewood Hills Rides And Lost Hat
SPEAKER_01It's not I'm not about that life.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_01Also, I lost a hat, lost, lost a um a baseball cap on a ride. So uh it was stake uh well, the the the ride is called Eggspress and it's all egg themed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But before that, it was called Snake in the Grass. And before that, it was called Rattlesnake. Okay. You might remember Rattlesnake.
SPEAKER_00I remember Rattlesnake, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Now the this ride, kids' ride, you it's it's it's a speedy one, all on the floor, but you go round around like you're you're a rattlesnake, right? Uh they announce on the Tanoy before we get on the ride, or I'm sitting, I'm sitting in the ride, I'm already belted in, and they go, if you're wearing a hat, uh you will probably lose it. Um, so please take it off now. So I thought, oh right, yeah, I'll take it off. Go like this, chuck it into the box that they put all the things in, went up and over the side, didn't it? Felt like a right twat. And no one saw me do it until I looked to the queue and this guy looked at me and went, like this. Yes, I'm the third hat that was lost today. Exactly. Yeah, and then we we were just pissing ourselves laughing as we got off the ride. The fact that I lost a hat, it was hilarious.
SPEAKER_03Brilliant.
SPEAKER_01Um, so yeah, I lost a hat. Um, other than that, nothing, nothing really going on. No? Do you want to tell us your so yeah?
SPEAKER_00Um well, July is obviously July's like birthday month for us for the boys in the Wales family because there's my brother, myself, and my dad. We all have like birthdays in like within two weeks of each other.

Barbecue Story And The Missing Key
SPEAKER_00So I've got a really funny story to tell you.
SPEAKER_01Go on.
SPEAKER_00Happened yesterday.
SPEAKER_01Okay, oh, this is fresh off the press, though.
SPEAKER_00Fresh off the press. This was this was hilarious. So uh went to Anthony's yesterday, my brother, uh-huh. Uh, to have a barbecue. Nice. Okay, uh, because it was my dad's their new house? Their new house.
SPEAKER_01Lovely, is it nice?
SPEAKER_00It is really nice. You can see it on Hillary's uh Hillary's Reels. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's really, really nice. Whereabouts in uh it's not too far from where they used to live. Oh, okay. Yeah, it's just like a few streets up, but it's it's kind of a little bit more rural, a little bit uncomfortable. Really quiet. Nice. Really quiet, lovely big house, lovely big garden. Um, yeah, it's really, really nice.
SPEAKER_03Nice.
SPEAKER_00So anyway, um, before I obviously went to uh Anthony's yesterday, I went shopping.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00Right? And I put the shopping bags in the trolley and going around, I get to the end and I pull everything out and I'm like, oh shit, someone's left their car keys in the trolley, right? So I thought, oh dear. So being the good person that I am, I handed them in to customer services.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Didn't think anything else of it. Uh go home, uh, then said to your mum, because your mum was working really late last night, she didn't finish till about seven. Then she had to go to the lock up, right, um, lock um, sort all the paddle boards out, and then this morning she was up at like six to go down to Thetford to go, I think. Anyway, at my dad's or at Anthony's for dad's party, whole family's there. Like the whole family, like all of us were there. So the extended, so it was it was a massive, massive party. And uh my phone rings and it's your mum, and she says to me, she says, uh, have you seen my car key?
SPEAKER_02Oh no, and I went, No, I haven't seen it anyway.
SPEAKER_00Didn't didn't kind of click. And she went, it was in one of the Hessian shopping bags. Shit.
SPEAKER_01It's at Morrison's. It's at Morrison's behind the customer service. Well, at least it's safe, you know. At least you'd like, yeah. So I'd handed it in. I thought you were gonna say you've handed in your own keys. I thought that's what the story was. How did you not recognise her key?
SPEAKER_00I just because it was just literally just a car key.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. So it wasn't like it didn't have her little back charm on the key.
SPEAKER_00No, it had nothing that I would have recognised it as being your mum's keys, but I your mum then had to go to Morrison's to pick the key up. To then go to the lockup. She was not happy. She was seriously not happy.
SPEAKER_01Well, oh, I don't want to speak out of turn with mum, but she shouldn't have put a spare random key in her Hessian shopping bag. The fact that she knew it was there also is is is a red flag because she she almost she set you up here. Yeah. I think she set you up.
SPEAKER_00But the funny, I mean, I'd have felt awful for this as well, but she didn't just ring me up straight away.
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_00She'd pulled all the bags out and she'd been searching in the cupboard of doom that we have out there. No. So I don't know how long she'd been searching in there, and then obviously then rung me. And like the realisation then hit what I'd done.
SPEAKER_01Oh damn. How long did it take you to realise?
SPEAKER_00It was pretty much as she was talking, but as soon as she said it was in the Hessian bag, it was kind of like instant immediately. Yeah, I realize I realised what had happened. But then, of course, I went and told my brother and my sister and my dad and they all took the piss out of you. Everyone just burst out laughing and thought it was hilarious.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that is a funny one. Oh no. I honestly thought you were gonna say it was your own kid. No, no, that is something you would do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh god.
SPEAKER_00And then uh your mum sent um my dad a message last night and said, Can I be returned? Because I'm because I'm defective.
SPEAKER_01Did he say yes? No, he didn't.
SPEAKER_00I think he probably said keep him.
SPEAKER_01Keep him, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so that was really funny. But um other than that, I haven't really been doing a lot
Twelve Monkeys And Great Endings
SPEAKER_00else. I've I finished 12 Monkeys, by the way. Yay! Great, wasn't it? So I've been what I'd yeah, because I'd I'd seen the film, and but I'd never I think you'd mentioned the series to me before.
SPEAKER_01We watched it, it's a long time ago, so I'm not gonna remember everything, but yeah, we really enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_00It was really good. It was good, it was good. I mean, it's very time-travelly kind of you have to kind of work out It's a bit like dark, yeah. Which version of Cole and which version of Cassie and which version of that you're actually which version of events you're looking at. Yeah, yeah. Um I I loved Deacon.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Deacon's character was brilliant.
SPEAKER_01It's coming back to me, it's coming back to me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was it was really good, and it had a really good ending. I like the ending. It was good. I think it was one of those endings again where I think they knew what they they'd written. They knew it was coming. They'd written the whole thing before they had, they knew it was gonna be four seasons, they wrapped it all up nicely, and they didn't kind of sort of get to season four and go, oh, then now let's go down this route or now let's go down that route.
SPEAKER_01They stuck to the plan.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it's it's nearly ten years old.
SPEAKER_01I know. I think we must have watched it when it when it first released, because that's how long it would go. It feels like we watched it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I love the little nods to the film because the film is just brilliant, it's really surreal, it's Terry Gilliam film.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we we haven't seen the film, so we wouldn't have got the references. Yeah, we really enjoyed the channel.
SPEAKER_00I mean, even the point of the releasing of the virus in the airport and all of that, and it was like lots of little nods to the film, but it was detached enough from the film to be a completely different story. Yeah, it was yeah, nice because in the film it's not actually the army of the twelve monkeys who um released the virus.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Because they they're looking for the army of the twelve monkeys in the film the whole time. Sorry, this is spoilers, but the film has been out for decades. Um it's not really a spoiler anyway. The army of the twelve monkeys are like an environmental group that want to release animals and it had them nothing to do with the virus whatsoever. So they were looking down the wrong red herring. The whole film.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was really good.

Mastering Skills And Understanding People
SPEAKER_00shall we um shall we crack on with question nine? I don't know if we'll get to do all thirty, but we'll just see how we go through. Hammer through. Well, because we don't want to sort of do a three-parter.

SPEAKER_00So the la I yeah, I had to listen to the podcast to see where we were.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And the last question that we asked, or I asked you, was the most underrated skill someone can have is. That was the last question that we had, not question eight.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So question nine, Hannah.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00If you could instantly master one thing, what would it be?
SPEAKER_01How how specific have I gotta be?
SPEAKER_00Anything at all, anything at all. If you could master one thing, what would it be?
SPEAKER_01Because the first thing that came to my head was music.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's the first thing that popped into my head.
SPEAKER_01But music as a whole, like I I don't want it to be a particular instrument. I want to be able to make music. That's like I want to be able to produce it. Produce it and sing my own shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, so I guess that would be that's where my heart goes. I think that's where my heart wants to go. But truly, if I wanted to master anything, it would be the psychology of people, would be my psychology. Okay. Like if I could have a hierarchy, the second option would be I would I want to be able to understand people better.
SPEAKER_00That follows on quite nicely because that was kind of how you answered the last question. Communication, yeah. The communication side of things.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was trying to remember what I said, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Um, so yeah, selfishly music, yeah. Uh non-selfishly psychology. Yeah. Yeah. I want to I want to know how people tick so that I can communicate better. Um it'd be an easier world if I understood that side of things better.
SPEAKER_00Mine would be actually would be quite simple and would just be the guitar because there's I can play the guitar. Because when you when you start playing the guitar, you realise how much you don't know when playing the guitar. Yeah. How comp all the different variations and styles. And I would love to be able to um okay, give you an example. A Fleetwood Mac example. Big love. When Lindsay Buckingham plays that on the Spanish guitar, right? That was I that I I would love to have that level of skill on a guitar. The way he plays that and how quickly he plays that, and it's I feel like Peach is there though. Peach is an amazing guitarist. The stuff that he can pull out is just unbelievable.
SPEAKER_01He's yeah, he's got he's got a brain for it for sure. Like he's so good.
SPEAKER_00He is the solos he comes up with on the fly, and how it's yes, phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal.
SPEAKER_01I don't want to make this weird, but I was actually thinking of Pierre yesterday.
SPEAKER_00Oh right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because um the reason I was thinking of him was because um I asked Mitchell and I went for a walk yesterday. Yeah, just just a random walk in the countryside, nothing, nothing crazy. But on the way there, obviously, we have like our playlist on, and I requested on this specific day because it was so sunny and so awesome. I was like, Do you mind if we put on summer sickness? Authority zero. Yeah, and um he was like, Yeah, yeah, sure, I'll cue it. So he cued it when it came on, and I just heard the and I was like, oh, and I was I I literally turned to Richard and I was like, It's Pierre, even though you're not Authority Zero, but we covered it. You covered it, that's what made me think of it, and I was like, This is Pierre, yeah, sitting there in the car. Um, and he he he crossed my mind as the thought. Yeah, my my brother. Yeah, um Pierre, my long-lost brother.
SPEAKER_00Did you know, did you know um that surprise that he did? Pierre with Youth Killed It? Did I tell you about that?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so Youth Killed It played the waterfront, they were doing a headline show.

SPEAKER_00Yeah, this was it was only about three or four months ago.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, no, no.
SPEAKER_00I think I was invited to it, but I was like, Yeah, yeah, I don't think you could no, because I asked you if you wanted to come down to it.
SPEAKER_01I couldn't go, I can't remember why. I think it was at a wedding, actually.
SPEAKER_00And I never put it together, right? So about two weeks and uh Joel, you know Joel. I know Joel, yeah, Joely jams Joel, right? Joly jams, Joel. He was hounding me, right? And I know he had you know when it comes to gigs anyway, he does hound me, but he was extra hounding me for this one. You're gonna be there, aren't you? You're definitely coming, and da da da. And I was like, yes, Joel, I'll I will be there. And anyway.
SPEAKER_01So you're getting a bit suspicious.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, and anyway, a week beforehand, he then messages me and says, random question, but have you um can I borrow your in ears? Oh. So I was like, Well, yeah, of course you can. I thought, you know, but I thought, oh, maybe his is broken or something like that. Didn't kind of think anything of it. Anyway, so me, Benji Peach, um, a few others all went to the youth killed gig. Becca was there, uh, Grant was there. Yeah, it was like the old.
SPEAKER_01Oh, congratulations to Grant for getting married.
SPEAKER_00Congratulations to Grant and Anna for getting married in Brazil. In Brazil, in Brazil, that was awesome. Yeah, that was amazing. Carry on. So we're we're all there, and it was like the old like musicians crew. So I mean Addis Addison's uncle, you know, Foo Fu Addison was there, and they were everywhere I was like driving off Sierra down to the U0159. Everywhere I looked, there was like another musician that I knew. So we we were just all by the bar all talking. And uh Jack, obviously Jack Murphy, who is the lead singer in You've Killed It, he's uh up on stage, but sort of about halfway through his set, and he starts saying something, and then I just kind of clicked, and they just kind of went all the way from Marseille, and we all looked like this, and I looked, and I was like, and he went, Here's Pierre. Pierre came out on stage, played sacks with Youth Killed It. Yeah. Right? And we're all looking, I saw Jack kind of look down at us and just kind of smile. And I went Pierre! I went I went running over to the stage, and Dan Moss, Mozzie, uh drama, he was there, and he was just filming me and Benji, and we were just like pissing ourselves, laughing, and Pierre was playing and sort of smiling. So it was a complete surprise that Pierre had kind of come all the way up to to play with you, killed it. And then then it dawned on me. I thought that's why they needed my in ears, yeah. For Pierre. For him. For Pierre.
SPEAKER_01And then you would have, even if I mean, you would have lent them to Pierre anyway. Yeah, of course I would, but it was a surprise.
SPEAKER_00So Joel had done it as a surprise for Pierre to come up and didn't tell us.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And when the gig finished, I walked over to Pierre and was talking to him. And uh I sort of said, I said, Oh, you're not driving back tonight, are you? He went, No, you don't know, do you? I went, What? He said, I'm staying at yours tonight. I've been talking to Sharon all week.

Younger Selves And UK Accents

SPEAKER_00Right, sorry, this is really so I was looking through some old videos the other day that I've got on my computer of you.

SPEAKER_01Yeah. There's so much Kent in that voice, isn't there? That's definitely gone.
SPEAKER_00You were only about what, seven, I think.

SPEAKER_00It was like Christmas morning, wasn't it? You were opening up your presents and you just your little eyes shut up. I like that.
SPEAKER_01Like I don't have I don't think I've got that accent anymore.

SPEAKER_01It's it's gone transatlantic. It's gone, it's gone, um, it's not American, but like it's gone like I feel like my my Norfolk and my Kent accent have moulded into one, and now I sound like um cramps, I think.

SPEAKER_00And John Berthnell was like, Well, of course it's America, we're bigger. It makes sense, but and Tom Holland went, nah, mate. He said we the UK's got more accents than that. And they were kind of like John was like, No, they're what? No, you're not. I bet there is.

SPEAKER_01It's because America may be vast, but they're in their own little pockets. Because a lot of well, not a lot of America, but that a good amount of America is inhabitable because if you look in Utah, for example, it's basically all rock.

SPEAKER_01So I'm not saying there's not people that live in Utah, but there are there are places that cannot be lived in in the US for various reasons. Like no one lives in a Nevada desert and you've just randomly got Vegas just chilling in it. You know what I mean? Like they may be vast, but they're they're not as concentrated as us and therefore have those regional community accents.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean the a lot of the population is condensed in like New York, Los Angeles, the big city.

SPEAKER_00It is bizarre how many accents the UK has got.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, but that we've had so many influences from loads of different things. Like the Vikings came for in from the north, we had the Saxons come up. Like, it's so and then we've got uh what is it? Uh the the sun never set on the British Empire, so we had loads of like, you know, people coming from all sorts of areas colonial. We did. That's what we did. You know, I'm not saying it was right, I'm just saying that's what happened. Um, you know the great heist. Yeah, the great heist of the world, yeah, when we took over the world, but yeah, no, I'm not saying it's it's it's good. I'm just saying that that I think that's why we've even Ireland, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Ireland it's it's got lots of different accents because you like you've got the Northern Irish and it's very harsh and very like that. And then you've got the more softer sort of Dublin accent as well.
SPEAKER_01I think I've got a bit more of a soft Dublin accent. I don't think I've got a Northern Ireland accent.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're they're very and but even in Northern Ireland, you know, you can tell the difference between the dairy accent and a Belfast accent. Yeah, they're completely different.

Risks We Took And Lessons Learned

SPEAKER_01Well, what happened was, oh let me tell you a story. Bloody hell, you put a hundred quid. Yeah, this is the riskiest thing I've ever done. Honestly.

SPEAKER_01Let me explain the story because I think it will be it'll make you feel a lot better.

SPEAKER_01Um, actually, it wasn't a hundred, I tell a lie, I revised that. It was sixty dollars.

SPEAKER_01I got a hundred return. Bear with me. Nice bear with me. Nice. So I went to Vegas with some work colleagues, and what happened was we were supposed to go to the Super Bowl, like a bean back screen showing in this place. But unfortunately, our flight was delayed, so we only got the second half.

SPEAKER_01So my colleague said, Oh, can we have our money refunded? We won't make it. And um, we never heard anything from them. So I thought, oh, we'll just catch the second half then, uh, because we've paid for it. Anyway, the next day it got refunded. So I had sixty dollars in my head, girl maths, I've got free money.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I jokingly said to my colleague, shit, should I just put the sixty on black on uh on the roulette? Because it the money I've I've already had left my brain, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's disposable.
SPEAKER_01In my head, yeah, okay, yeah, it would have been nice to bring 60 $60 back, but what have you? I thought, oh fine, basically. Hannah, you did swearies. And put it all on black. So so did my colleague, and so did my other colleague. There was four of us, and three out of the one of us, three, three out of the four of us put it all on black on the roulette. And I felt sick. I in that moment I was like, what have I done? I would never do this. It's so, so reckless. I it was my idea as well. I'm the reckless one, I am, I'm the bad person. So my my colleague to my left, I had the colleague behind me because I'm short, so he was behind me looking on the roulette wheel. And I was like, boys, um, I need to close my eyes. I can't look, I can't look. And I, as I closed my eyes, I saw it bounce into a red, and I was like, that's it, we've done. And then literally a second later, my other colleague was jumping on my shoulders, like like not anything weird, just literally like jumping up and down on my shoulders. Hada, had a look, look, look, look, it's black. And the guy's like, it's black. And it was and then we, yeah. So out of the $60 that I put on, I actually come away with a hundred dollars. Nice. And I kept it.

SPEAKER_01But that is probably the the most riskiest thing I've ever done. And it's not even that, like, that's quite tame. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I haven't, do you know what? I can't think of anything that I've done that's for really risky. I'm really not. I weighed the risk. I mean, even like going up Snowden when I told you, like, oh, actually, no, I have done something that was life-threatening.
SPEAKER_01Oh, and it was for mum.

SPEAKER_01Do you remember you and mum were at a wedding?
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_01And you had all of your gear in your car and she couldn't fit in your car for going home. And for some reason, whatever happened, the taxi that she was supposed to have either didn't turn up or it wasn't booked in time, or she couldn't find one because this wedding was out in the middle of nowhere.

SPEAKER_01You had music gear. It was a f I'm not I'm just trying to I'm trying to keep it.
SPEAKER_00Was it a friend's wedding that I was playing? Yes. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01I think you will know who it is when I say after the podcast, but you might not be recollecting them right now. So, anyway, that particular time I was really suffering bad with insomnia. So I was at home and I'd taken uh taken a sleeping pill and gone to sleep. Yeah. I get this call at like 2 a.m., 3 a.m. in the morning. Mum going, Hannah, is there any chance you can pick me up from this wedding in Laudon?
SPEAKER_00Gotcha. Yeah, you know where I am? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And that is one of the scariest times I've ever been in the car. I had all the windows down, I had everything blowing at me. I was like, I have got to stay awake, I've got to stay awake. And I was driving all the way, and I picked up mum and she was talking to me all the way home. The worst leg was coming back from yours to my house, which is only 17 minutes down the road. And I could feel myself, this was like at 4 a.m. in the morning on the on the A11, my eyes just going like this, and I was like, no, no, no, stay awake, stay awake. I must have been like this. And I swear in the morning, like my arms hurt from gripping the wheel so much. That was naughty.

SPEAKER_01That I shouldn't have done. Saying that was risky.
SPEAKER_00I would probably say one of the riskiest, but was probably something quite similar because France France.

SPEAKER_00Yeah, driving for 24 hours straight all the way through France, through Paris, on a ferry, and then driving through London.

Money No Object And Helping Others

SPEAKER_01For me, if if it was no object for me, if I suddenly come into quite a bit of money.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So all of a sudden you you're you're flush with you know, you've you've just bought X uh and Tesla, and you go out there and I wouldn't be buying them. Yeah, you suddenly become a trillionaire.
SPEAKER_01Selfishly, selfishly, the first thing I thought of was I would help any family member that needed it, needed the money. Um no, we've got other family members that are are in a worse uh position, I would say. Um I would help them out first.

SPEAKER_01And then as we know that Elon could solve world hunger, that's my next step. Straight for the big guns.

SPEAKER_01And that's what I want to be known for. Yeah. That'd be so well, I'm not doing it to be known, but I mean as in I my legacy, I would want I would want my legacy to be helping other people. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00That and I do agree with that, yeah. You you do, and it's the it's the old ad it's the thing, isn't it? Is if you're drowning and you've got one one oxygen mask, put it on yourself first because then you've got enough to help other people and you can help the others.

Yeah, I'm getting better and I'm definitely not as bad as I used to be. But the fear that I had, because we're going away soon, um, like less than 50 days, we're going to Poland, which I'm really, really excited about. I'm really, really excited about.

Because I told them straight away, I was like, I'm going to Poland. Any advice? Um, yeah, so um anyway, I said to Mitchell, the thing that has been scaring me recently that's playing on my mind is you know when the oxygen masks are let down, yeah. Can I reach that? Am I too?

SPEAKER_01This is what he said to me, but he said, worst case scenario, I'm gonna put mine on first and then help you with yours.

SPEAKER_01He said that and I said, You've got to put yours on first because if you have the deprivation, you can't help me. Exactly. The oxygen deprivation. And and we were talking about this, and he was like, Don't worry about it, because worst case scenario, I'll put mine on and then just put yours on for you. Like he he was like, Don't worry about it. I was like, You have a point. Exactly that sometimes sometimes I forget there's people around you that can help you. Yeah, you are you ever something sometimes I'm so narrow-minded that I think I'm the only person that can help me. And then I forget that, oh yeah.

Who Influenced Us Most
SPEAKER_01I think probably a combination of you both. You definitely influenced me music-wise, for sure. Like I would never have got up and sang if it wasn't for your support in that um and buying the guitar, buying the ukulele, buying those things. The the monetary side, I guess, as well, is is giving me the opportunity to do that. Mumas definitely influence more of my core personality. Yeah. I mean, you know, she was there from the beginning, not to be rude, but she was. Um, so you know, at the end of the day, like she's the person that taught me. Well, she's she's the one that taught me how to talk and how to be polite and how to get around in society just simply by I think her working at the salon and me being in there around adults a lot. Yeah, uh it done it done me a blessing and it also done me a curse because I felt that I was definitely more connected to adults than I was children.

SPEAKER_01Now that I'm an adult, I'm now struggling, I think, in my head. I I it's probably all in my head, but sometimes I feel like I now struggle to talk to peers of my age, but I'm fine with the older generation. Like I can I can make more jokes and I can sometimes I'm more comfortable with I'm not saying the elderly, but I'm just saying like the generation above me, yeah, I'm definitely way more comfortable talking to than my peers. Sometimes I feel like I think a lot differently to my peers, and that singles me out. But I think a lot of this is all in my head.

SPEAKER_01I I probably can talk to my peers, but I also there's a part of me that's I'm I'm definitely more nervous about what I say in front of my peers as opposed to the older generation. So you know, some people will probably you know won't like you for one tiny little reason which is ridiculous. Yeah, yeah. And then otherwise, so you can't you can't worry about it. You can't always win.
SPEAKER_01I think that's that's the thing that I'm that I'm learning now, is that you can't always win, and that's okay.

Because if you think about when you when you met me, you weren't a dad previously. And I have not not consciously perhaps, but I have also influenced that side of you, that that paternal side of you that was clearly in there all along, but I I've definitely probably brought that out without knowing. So I think in some ways we've probably influenced each other. There's probably things that you would you would think differently of because of my views on things.

And I also research a lot of things about tracking people as well, because another thing for my books. But yeah, in terms of weird things, something weird will come up in conversation, and I'll just research it. But perhaps we need to cut that out.

And he was uh he was uh him and Anth were talking yesterday, and Anth pulled out his old Pokemon cars and was showing him like that Will's little face like he was in the world. I don't think I've got one anymore. But then of course, then uh I just heard Will go, Oh, that's a Diggler. All I know is um Pikachu, Squirtle, and Bob bubble boo bulbaza or whatever. Glastoise No Bul Bumble something bulbazar.

SPEAKER_00Bulbasaur, that's it. I don't even know that. The evolution of the sort of sort of sort of. So I don't know what what Diglet was, and they were talking about Diglett's and I was like, what the hell's Digglet's well cute?

SPEAKER_00Because that is. Hello, Archie. Because that is the one thing that's been driving me nuts this past two weeks. Because it's still really hot. The weather is still really hot. And for some bizarre reason, we have been inundated with flies.

SPEAKER_00They're bloody everywhere. But we have. Oh, we've got one of the um You've got a zapper. We've got a zapper, right? Okay. Okay, so I'm I'm getting really good at this. Occasionally they have they have smell as I as I've cooked them. Um I'm not a I'm not a murderer, you know, and all people for animal rights. Well, I'm not a bomb maker, but here we are. What I have discovered, if you have one of these tennis rackets that's is like a like a zapper, fly zapper. Okay, if you go forehand, right? There's a technique. There is I've learned there is a technique. You can't get them. But what I've noticed is that they fly and they come around. Backhand, get them all the time.
SPEAKER_01Nice.
SPEAKER_00I'm really good with the backhand. Or if they've landed, right? Approach from behind. Because they'll fly when they're when they're rubbing their little legs together. And they'll fly straight, which means you can get them as as you go. But don't approach them full, don't approach them head on. They'll they're all over the gaff. But yeah. From behind and backhand, get them every time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Do they crackle and sizzle and pop?
SPEAKER_00They do. Do you know what really annoys me though with flies? It's like I I fly can live as uh wherever. Fine, absolutely fine. But stop trying to land on my food when I'm trying to eat.
